Music and art are fun learning opportunities, without children realizing they are learning. Critical thinking skills are huge when it comes to art and music. Drawing and painting are great ways for students to learn visually while also building visualspatial skills. All kinds of musical instruments use logical and abstract thinking as well as problem solving. Outside of academics, students can become more culturally aware. Hearing different music and art works from other countries shows kids diversity. When they finally finish an art project, or successfully play a song on an instrument, they feel good about themselves. This confidence can boost their self-esteem, and encourage them to learn more. This confidence can also transfer over to their academics. This positive outcome from art and music classes can improve the overall attitude at school which can improve academic performance. Music and art both encourage kids to express themselves which can lead to the development of innovation skills.
